UBC Gunn IMS Needling Review
The objective of Needling Review is to offer an opportunity to previously-certified Gunn IMS practitioners to revise all the certification course needling techniques as they are currently taught. Starting in Fall 2024, we will also offer the opportunity to review all the current certification course theory material.

Format
In-Person Practical Sessions
Course attendees have the option to join one or both of the in-person Certification Course weekends (Part 1B, Part 2 or Part 1B AND 2) and review the needling techniques for the muscles taught in the certification program as per the selected weekend, i.e., Part 1B muscles will be reviewed on the Part 1B weekends, Part 2 muscles will be reviewed on the Part 2 weekends.
Both Parts 1B and 2 are both two-day in-person courses.
Course hours are Saturday and Sunday, 8:30 am - 5:30 pm both days.
Course fees include:
- in-person training as above
- a current course manual
- access to the UBC Gunn IMS Surface Anatomy videos for 12 months

These options provide access to the current Certification Course theory material.
Option A. The Four "Core" Lectures
i. Dr. Gunn's Neuropathic Model of Myofascial Pain (presented by Cory Choma)
ii. The Effects of Dry Needling (presented by Lyndal Solomons)
iii. Preparing to Treat (presented by Dave Zelibka)
iv. The Gunn IMS Neuropathic Assessment (presented by Lorrie Maffey)
Option B. Neuropathic Assessment and Clinical Reasoning Materials
i. Clinical Application of the Gunn IMS Neuropathic Assessment (presented by Lyndal Solomons) - this series of videos includes a demonstration of the neuropathic assessment on a model and related documentation using the current neuropathic assessment form, a discussion around clinical reasoning related to the model, and a discussion around treatment planning related to the model
ii. A fillable PDF version of the current UBC Gunn IMS Neuropathic Assessment Form you can use in your clinic charting
iii. Video presentations of two Instructor-Prepared Case Studies (presented by Susan Massitti and Mitchell Davis)

Eligibility
This course is only available for those practitioners of Gunn IMS who:
- Have successfully completed certification training in Gunn IMS through iSTOP or UBC only
- Hold current registration to practise from their relevant regulatory college AND
- Hold current malpractice insurance (as detailed below)
